The first Meremere Hall

The store opposite the Melrose Dairy Factory at one time served as a post office. It closed in 1934-35 and became Meremere,s first community hall..(It was discribed as) very dilapidated and the walls moved with the slightest breeze..Many a great night was held here, with the sloping floor making dancing very interesting.
